Lucky escape for dog trapped in barbed wire fence

An adventurous dog had a lucky escape this afternoon after becoming trapped in flood water at Buckle Holiday Park, Seaford.

Max, a Newfoundland, had gone in the water for a quick dip, but became entangled in a barbed wire fence.

Owners Irene and Stewart called 999 and asked for the coastguard and Newhaven coastguard rescue team, along with East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service were quickly on scene.

Max was cut free and, once rescued, was keen to continue exploring with his ‘Newfound’ emergency service friends.
