FRAUD ALERT ISSUED TO SEAFARERS

The UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) Investigation & Enforcement Unit have been notified by several members of the public throughout the world who have been offered fake dream jobs on cruise ships.
The jobs had been advertised on Facebook, Craig’s List and other bulletin boards.
Part of the recruitment process requires the successful applicant to complete an application to the “Maritime & Seafarer’s Coastguard Authority”.   Once the application has been completed the applicant is required to send a MoneyGram payment of £472 to Andrew Johnson of the Maritime & Seafarer’s Coastguard Authority.
The MCA wish to alert possible applicants that this is a SCAM and the offer of employment is fraudulent.
If you have been a victim of this fraud, please report it to Action Fraud at https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/
