Search after cliff fall at West Bay is called off.

A multi-agency search completed by the Coastguard, Police, Fire and Rescue Service, a specialist urban response team and a dog unit has been called off. A thorough and extensive search of the area was completed and there is no suggestion that anyone was caught by the landslip.

Peter Davies, Duty Controller, UK Coastguard said:
“Last night’s cliff fall is an example of just how unstable cliff edges can be, the incident could have had a very different outcome, and fortunately no one was seriously hurt or worse. We want everyone to enjoy our beautiful coastline but we want you to do it safely, please keep you distance from cliff edges both at the top and at the bottom, as cliffs really can crumble without warning.”
