Glider crash in Rhossili sparks multi agency response

HM Coastguard has been coordinating the multi-agency response, which included the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre, following a glider crash earlier today (1 August) at Rhossili.

The incident was reported just after 1.15pm when the glider is believed to have come down on the cliff side. There was one person on board.

Oxwich and Rhossili Coastguard Rescue Teams were sent, along with the HM Coastguard helicopter from St Athan, South Wales Police, Helimed, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

The pilot is being airlifted to Morriston Hospital in Swansea by the HM Coastguard helicopter for onward medical care. We have no further information.
