MCA Celebrating with PRIDE at Brighton Parade
MCA staff and coastguards will be taking to the streets to join
dazzling celebrations for today’s Brighton Pride Parade (Saturday 3 August).
The MCA team will be joining their
emergency services family and the festival goers in the parade with a HM
Coastguard vehicle, which has undergone a rainbow makeover for the occasion, carried out for free by Babcock International.
The parade starts at 11:00 am from Hove Lawns and we’ll be proudly showing off the rainbow livery to the crowds as a symbol of our support.
Chris Thomas, Deputy Director HM Coastguard, said:

‘Pride is about supporting our LGBTQ
colleagues and being able to visibly put out the message that the MCA is a
place where you really can bring your whole-self to work.
‘But
as well as the serious message it’s a lot of fun, last year over 300,000 people
lined the route of the Brighton parade and HMCG led the emergency services
section – the response we had was fantastic!
‘Our teams have kicked off celebrations at local events across the country this summer, and we’re excited to return to Brighton today with what promises to be our best turn out yet as well as Southampton and Cardiff later in the month: all opportunities to show off who we are and the positive way we value inclusion and equality.’
