A more detailed statement will be released tomorrow around midday.

UPDATE – MV PRISCILLA – 3PM Thursday 26 July 2018
The MV Priscilla remains stable and safely at anchor within Orkney Harbour’s jurisdiction of Scapa Flow.
MCA surveyors are onboard assessing the vessel and a dive inspection is still ongoing.
Subject to the outcome of these inspections, a decision will be made regarding future plans for the vessel and her remaining cargo.
We expect to issue a statement tomorrow morning with an update of the way forward.

UPDATE – MV PRISCILLA - 5PM Friday 27 July 2018

Following the re-float of the MV Priscilla, yesterday’s dive inspection revealed some minor damage which does not affect the structural integrity of the vessel.

The salvage contract was terminated this afternoon and the vessel was handed back to the owners.  At that point, the SOSRep, Hugh Shaw handed over responsibility to continuing to monitor the vessel’s passage to the Maritime & Coastguard Agency.

The vessel will be allowed to continue her passage to Silloth, Cumbria with her remaining cargo, under the strict conditions set by the Classification Society Bureau Veritas (BV) and agreed by the MCA Survey & Inspection team.

Following discharge in Silloth, the owners will submit their future passage plans to take the vessel to a repair yard – again subject to any Classification Society BV and MCA Survey & Inspection team requirements.

The MV Priscilla is currently safe at anchor in Scapa Flow and awaiting suitable weather conditions for the passage.
