Two calls outs yesterday for Coastguard helicopter from Newquay (with footage)

It turned out to be a busy day yesterday (Wednesday 15 June) for the UK Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Newquay after being called out to two jobs.

Just after 11am yesterday, UK Coastguard received a 999 call reporting an unwell coasteerer at Fly Cellars, Newquay.
Newquay Coastguard, Towan Lifeguards, Newquay RNLI lifeboat station, as well as the UK Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Newquay. The young coasteerer was airlifted to Treliske Hospital.

Their second call out happened at 1.55pm yesterday when the UK Coastguard received a 999 call from a climber that had fallen 6-8 metres at Bosigran Cliffs, Cornwall.

Penzance and St Ives Coastguard Rescue Teams were sent to the scene to look at setting up a rope rescue but it was decided that the best option would be a helicopter rescue.  The UK Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Newquay was sent to the scene and airlifted the climber to Treliske Hospital.  We wish both casualties from yesterday's incidents speedy recoveries!
