Lifeboats sent by HM Coastguard to search for possible capsized vessel in Plymouth area

HM Coastguard has begun a coastal search on the south coast after being alerted to debris including a life raft, lifejacket and a spinnaker pole which washed up in the Whitsand Bay area of Plymouth over the weekend.

Coastguard rescue teams from Tamar and Looe and four RNLI lifeboats from the Plymouth and Looe areas are now searching for any further debris or wreckage.

No vessel has been reported missing or in trouble at this time. The life raft was a 6-person size (see image). If you think you may have any information about this, please contact the UK Coastguard on 02392 552100.
