Consultation opens to license boat hirers on Loch Lomond

Consultation has opened on a proposal to license boat hirers on Loch Lomond - so don't miss this chance to have your say.

Argyll & Bute Council is proposing to strengthen its existing boat hirer licensing scheme.

Stirling Council and West Dunbartonshire Council are proposing to implement a new boat hirer licensing scheme.

Working in co-operation, the three councils want to ensure that any licensing scheme is applied consistently across Loch Lomond.  Their aim is to minimise the administrative burdens on businesses whilst improving the level of protection for people who travel on boats. The councils have developed this consultation in partnership with the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority (LL&TTNPA) and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA).
