COASTGUARD COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER RECEIVES HIS MBE FROM HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN


Today at Buckingham Palace, Steve Huxley, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s Search and Rescue Communications Manager received his award of an MBE from Her Majesty The Queen.

Steve Huxley, Search and Rescue Communications Manager, has worked in various roles for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency for 24 years - beginning his career at Swansea Coastguard.

Steve, now based at Falmouth Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre, said at the time of being notified of the award:

“It wouldn’t be an understatement to say I was ecstatic when I heard of this Award. I only wish there was such an Award for teamwork as my Team deserves great credit for what they have achieved, as well as colleagues in the wider Agency.”

Alan Massey, Chief Executive for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said:

“I am extremely proud that Her Majesty’s Coastguard has been recognised in this way. I would like to thank Steve Huxley for the benefit of his expertise and commitment to Search and Rescue communications.  I offer him my warmest congratulations for this well earned honour which will be celebrated far and wide within the MCA.”
