Search at Arbroath

At 1.15pm on Saturday, the UK Coastguard was alerted by Police Scotland to a report of a person in the water below cliffs at Arbroath.  Aberdeen Coastguard Operations Centre coordinated an intensive search of the area during Saturday afternoon involving the Coastguard rescue helicopter based at Prestwick, four Coastguard rescue teams from Montrose, St Andrews, Carnoustie and Stonehaven as well as RNLI lifeboats from Montrose and Arbroath.

The search was suspended during the hours of darkness and resumed on Sunday morning with nothing found.  The incident has been handed over to Police Scotland.
