Injured Walker Airlifted From Cornish Coast

At 3.30pm HM Coastguard received several 999 calls reporting that a lady had fallen on rocks on an inaccessible steep cliff path at Pednvounder.

HM Coastguard sent the Coastguard rescue helicopter from Newquay and Coastguard rescue teams from Lands End and Penzance as well as the RNLI lifeboat from Penlee.  Cornwall Air Ambulance and South West Ambulance also attended.

Coastguard rescue officers and paramedics went down to help and stabilise the casualty who had sustained a head injury and she was winched from there, by the Coastguard helicopter and transferred to Treliske Hospital.

In a coastal emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
