HM Coastguard responds as Mersey ferry the Royal Iris is grounded


HM Coastguard were called out early on Sunday afternoon when the Royal Iris, a passenger ferry, ran aground in the Mersey. Around 78 passengers were on board the vessel and were safely evacuated to the nearby docks with the help of a dredger.
