Search and rescue response to incident, Buckie, Scotland

A search and rescue operation has been launched by HM Coastguard after a woman was spotted in the water in the harbour at Buckie, north east Scotland.

It began around 7pm today (6 August) when a member of the Buckie Coastguard Rescue Team saw her and raised the alarm.

Buckie Coastguard Rescue Team, along with the Buckie RNLI lifeboat were sent to the scene. HM Coastguard’s search and rescue helicopter from Inverness was also called in to fly the woman to Aberdeen Infirmary.

Aberdeen Coastguard Rescue Team has been sent to the hospital to secure the landing area for the helicopter.
