Two more people recovered from sea at Camber Sands

Emergency services' crews have recovered two more people from the sea at Camber Sands beach this evening (Wednesday 24 August).

Three men died earlier today after being pulled from the same area of Camber Sands earlier this afternoon. Now the bodies of a further two men have been found in the water.

Rye Bay and Dungeness Coastguard Rescue Teams, Rye Harbour and Dungeness RNLI lifeboats and the UK Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Lydd are currently on scene, alongside Sussex Police.

Sadly, all five men have been confirmed deceased.  Our thoughts are with their families at this time.
