SEARCH FOR MISSING MAN IN NORTH YORKSHIRE
Humber Coastguard is coordinating a large-scale search for a missing man in Robin Hood’s Bay.
The 61-year-old was last seen yesterday morning on the beach heading to Ravenscar.
The Whitby , Robin Hood’s Bay and the Ravenscar Coastguard Rescue Teams are all involved. They started searching just before 1am this morning and continued until 5am , before returning to start searching again at 9am .
North Yorkshire police, the search and rescue helicopter from RAF Leconfield along with the Scarborough Mountain Rescue Team are also involved.
Mike Puplett, Watch Manager at Humber Coastguard, said:
“We are very concerned for this missing gentleman. The search is concentrating on the areas 5 miles either side of Robin Hood’s Bay, with close attention being paid to the coastal paths, namely the Cleveland Way , the beach areas and cliffs.
"Temperatures fell very low last night, so it is important we locate this gentleman as soon as possible.”
