MARITIME AND COASTGUARD AGENCY APPOINT TWO NEW NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has appointed two new Non Executive Directors: Alex Jablonowski and Alison White.

Non Executive Directors are a crucial part of the Agency's governance, bringing an independent perspective to all aspects of the MCA's business. Their role is to act as impartial advisors, offering a balance between support and advice on the one hand, and rigorous challenge on the other.

They are not employees and are affiliated both with the Agency's Executive Board and with the Department for Transport's MCA Advisory Board, which directs and oversees the Agency's work.

Alex Jablonowski comes from a very extensive and varied public and private sector background at board level. He'll join the Executive Board both as a Non Executive Director and as Chair of the MCA's Audit Committee.

Alex said: "I'm delighted to be joining the Board of a highly professional agency undertaking a role of major national importance."

Alison White also has wide public and private sector experience. She has a distinguished corporate background and strong financial skills.

Alison said: "I am delighted to be joining the Board of the MCA, and am very much looking forward to contributing to its future strategy and development."

Sir Alan Massey, Chief Executive of the MCA, said: "We are very excited that Alex and Alison have decided to join us, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience. We look forward to the benefit of their scrutiny and advice."
